Refund policy

At Lumdal Design, we want you to be completely certain about the light you bring into your home. That's why every order comes with the 30 Evenings Promise: you have 30 days from the date you receive your item to decide if it's right for you. If it isn't, you can return it.

RETURN CONDITIONS

To be eligible for a return under the 30 Evenings Promise, your item must be unused, in its original condition, and returned in its original packaging, together with valid proof of purchase. This applies to table lamps and any other product that does not require permanent mounting to be evaluated in your home.

HOW TO START A RETURN

To begin a return, please contact us at support@lumdal.com with your order number and the reason for your return. We will confirm your return and provide you with instructions on where to send your item.

Returns sent to us without first getting in touch will not be accepted, as we need to confirm your order details before we can process a refund.

RETURN SHIPPING

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. We recommend using a tracked shipping method, as we cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged in transit back to us.

REFUNDS

Once we receive your returned item, we will inspect it to confirm it meets the return conditions above. If approved, your refund will be issued to your original payment method within 7 business days. Please note that your bank or payment provider may take additional time to make the funds available in your account.

DAMAGED, DEFECTIVE, OR INCORRECT ITEMS

We know how disappointing it is to open a package and find something's wrong, so here's exactly what happens if that's the case:

- Contact us within 3 days of delivery, at support@lumdal.com, with your order number and a short description of the issue.

- Include photos of the damage or defect, and of the packaging if it arrived damaged in transit, this helps us resolve things quickly without needing the item sent back and forth unnecessarily.

- We'll confirm your options within 2 business days of receiving your message: a replacement, a repair, or a refund depending on the case would be applicable.

- If a return or replacement is needed, we'll cover the cost of return shipping, this is the one situation where you're not responsible for it.

- Refunds or replacements are processed within 7 business days of us confirming the issue, not from when any returned item arrives back with us.

NON-RETURNABLE ITEMS

Gift cards and certain sale items are not eligible for return or refund.

CANCELLATIONS

You may cancel your order within 12 hours of placing it for a full refund, provided it has not yet been shipped. To cancel, please contact us at support@lumdal.com as soon as possible, quoting your order number.

If you contact us after this window but your order has not yet shipped, reach out anyway, we're sometimes able to accommodate a cancellation before dispatch, though this can't be guaranteed once an order is being prepared for shipping.

If the order is already shipped, the normal return proces is applicable. 

UNCLAIMED PACKAGES AND INCORRECT DELIVERY INFORMATION

It's your responsibility to provide an accurate delivery address and to be available to accept or collect your package once it arrives.

If a package is not collected or accepted within 15 days and is returned to us, abandoned, or destroyed by the courier as a result, it is not eligible for a refund. Where this happens because of an incorrect address, a refused delivery, or a missed collection of a held package, we may offer reshipment at 50% of your original order total, once a correct address has been confirmed with you.

This does not apply if the delivery issue was caused by our courier rather than by the address or availability provided at checkout, in that situation, the damaged, defective, or incorrect items process above applies instead, at no cost to you.

YOUR STATUTORY RIGHT TO CANCEL (UK)

As a UK consumer, you also have a legal right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 to ship your order within 14 days of delivery, for any reason, without needing to give an explanation. The 30 Evenings Promise goes beyond this legal minimum, giving you a longer window and more time to be sure, but nothing in this policy limits or replaces your existing statutory rights.
